Background of the training
For 25 years, Men’s Development Network have been engaging with men across Ireland to be their best selves as individuals, partners, husbands, fathers, grandfathers, sons, friends, and neighbours. Leadership is a key pillar of Men’s Development Network and has come about through men’s groups and men learning in circles, sharing their experiences, supporting one another in relational, non-judgemental, non-adversarial and developmental settings. The work around leadership within Men’s Development Network aims at supporting men, not only when taking responsibility for their own health, but also when looking at personal development and the role they can play in relation to other men and to broader society.
The New Conversations with Leaders (Leadership Programme) is a programme that takes place over multiple meetings, both online and offline. In this course, participants will get the chance to explore different themes around being a man, leadership, inclusion and equity. They will also get the chance to meet different leaders with whom they will be able to explore different styles of leadership and learn some best practices. Additionally, open space will be provided to explore their own engagement of what their own leadership looks like.
Leadership is needed right now! This programme intends to developmentally improve the leadership skills of men in relation to 4 key themes:
